Frontal Lobe

The Frontal Lobe is a one-of-a-kind indoor roller coaster designed by The Great Exhibition in Liljeholmen, Stockholm. Inspired by the brain’s frontal lobe, the roller coaster explores the unpredictable nature of risk-taking, decision-making, and childhood dreams through 60 meters of immersive art. Winding around office spaces, the design invites riders to reconnect with the raw creativity and emotions often suppressed in the algorithm-driven world.

IDEA
The Frontal Lobe roller coaster is a metaphor for memories and emotions. Built inside an office building, the roller coaster underscores the belief that unusual and unexpected experiences are essential to generating lasting memories. It reflects the design studio’s commitment to embracing creativity over automation in a world increasingly optimized by algorithms.

ATTENTION
The only rollercoaster build this year in Sweden’s, and the world’s only indoor office roller coaster, Frontal Lobe grabs attention with its unconventional setting and design. Its 60 meters of red-lacquered steel snake through kitchens, bathrooms, and storage spaces, a physical manifestation of The Great Exhibition’s design philosophy.

DESIRE
The Frontal Lobe taps into the unpredictable excitement and the thrill of the unknown. By combining creativity and physical experience, it offers visitors a chance to engage in something entertainng,  while rediscover real emotions in a world dominated by rationality and efficiency.

MEMORY
The Frontal Lobe leaves a lasting impression by blending the physical thrills of a roller coaster with a deeper exploration of creativity, memory, and emotion. It challenges the idea that technology and automation can fully replace human creativity.
